“St. Ives represents all
the magic of Cornwall.
The tiny winding streets, fascinating shops and picturesque cottages retain
all the traditional charm of an historic fishing town.”
St.Ives is a small fishing
village located on the dramatic North Cornwall coast, a beautiful town in
itself as well as a perfect base from which to explore the rest of Cornwall.
The town retains much of it's original character and charm with it's cobbled
streets, winding alleys and whitewashed granite fisherman's cottages. St.Ives
is famous for it's stunning yellow sandy beaches and numerous little hidden
coves. Porthmeor surfing beach with it's rolling
breakers, is a favourite with surfers whilst Porthgwidden
and Porthminster are favoured by families for their
calm, translucent bathing waters.
Art has played an important role in shaping St.Ives and Cornwall as a whole and
is still today a major draw for many visitors. The Tate St.Ives exhibits
artwork by many local and international artists on a regular basis. The town
has played host to such artistic luminaries as Barbara Hepworth,
Bernard Leach, Ben Nicholson, Patrick Heron, and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham,
many of who's work is featured in galleries and museums in the town. There
are also numerous small galleries and studios dotted around the town which
offer a wide range of differing art forms giving an insight into the
character of the town and it's heritage.
St.Ives is extremely well served with entertainment and
amenities to suit most tastes. Award winning restaurants and cafes, open year
round, range from local seafood through Mediterranean
, Asian and Oriental Cuisine.

By Car:
The main A30 runs from Exeter
to Penzance. At Lelant
just west of Hayle take the A3074 to St. Ives.
Immediately after Carbis
Bay watch for the Tregenna Castle signs on the left hand side.
Just past the entrance to the Tregenna Castle Hotel
on the left there is a fork in the road, take the left hand fork (signposted
to the Leisure centre). After approx 300 metres there is a sharp bend to the
left which is steeply inclined. Just as you start to round this bend,
Pednolver Terrace is located directly on to your right. Immediately take the
first turn on the right down an unmade road, down the back of the Terrace.
There are 2 parking spaces at the rear and further parking space close by.

in the vicinity. Please note, Pednolver Terrace does not appear on maps, if
using sat/nav look for Talland Road,
St. Ives TR26.

Intercity Services running to Penzance stop
at St. Erth station, and from there a frequent
(approx every half hour) local service runs along the three mile scenic branchline to St. Ives. At St Ives station head towards
